Wally has combined teaching and coaching high school sports for over 25 years. He has coached every level of hockey and has produced numerous articles and videos for Hockey Canada for player development. He was a skills coach with Dave King’s 1988 Olympic team and has coached in 3 Spengler cups. He coached women’s teams at the1998 and 2002 Olympics moving into a Head scout role at Hockey Canada he also served as manager player development writing curriculum for the Program of Excellence (POE) preparing National teams for international competition. Wally has played for and coached Men’s National Teams. His coaching resume includes Major Junior, Junior A, University and most recently an Olympic Gold Medalist in 2002 as an Assistant Coach with the Women’s National Team. In 2010 Wally was the Head Scout and Director of Player Development for the same Women’s National Team. Wally has Mentored Coaches for many years at Hockey Canada and Hockey Alberta U15, U16, U17 and U18 Programs. Since leaving Hockey Canada Wally has dedicated himself to serve the “good of the game” bringing his knowledge and experience to compliment coach and player development at P3Sports. Summary: I have been both a Head and Assistant coach in multiple sports at all ages over many years. Presently I work with P3sportsinc out of Cochrane Alberta in a mentorship role with the company and working with other experienced coach / mentors to provide support for community associations.
